Help Save the Azaleas at the National Arboretum

Last fall, the U.S. National Arboretum announced plans to remove most of the original Glenn Dale azaleas citing the loss of a private annual grant of $110,000.  Many of thses spectacular specimen azaleas are over 60 year old.  Please visit the "Save the Azaleas" website: set up by Mr. Steve Henning and Don Hyatt's Fact Sheet:
On Monday, February 14, the Friends of the National Arboretum (FONA) annonced that it received $1 million from an anonymous donor to establish an endowment for the National Arboretum azalea and boxwood collections.  FONA also plans to launch a fundraising campaign in the spring for another $1 million.
